Bishops Lace -Neglected Series, 7.5 x 11.25, Original Watercolor
The vibrant yellow green, blues and violets harmonize in an exciting way. Only the hearty are surviving in my yard right now. Rain is scarce and the summer has been hot. I appreciate the weeds that flower!
Neglected Series – This series celebrates nature uninterrupted. Overgrown, decaying and abandoned, mother nature will take back its own. Neglected has a negative connotation, but it is often from these ashes that beauty can emerge. I like to highlight unexpected loveliness.
This painting was achieved by painting the negative spaces, that is the space around the flowers and plants. I repeated layers of paint and masking in order to create the layers and depth.
This is an original watercolor painting. Professional Watercolor pigments were used on Arches 140 lb paper. The paper is torn by hand to create a rough edge all the way around. Every effort is made to create straight edges. Please forgive tiny imperfections, they add to the authenticity of one-of-a-kind art. You can choose to frame it with the edge visible or mat it for a clean edge.
No reproductions are permitted.
I am happy to produce commissions that will allow you to choose colors, size, etc.
