Illuminating and Ultimate Grey
When I first considered painting with the 2021 Pantone Color of the Year, I was not initially inspired. However, sometimes my creativity gets a boost from a limitation. I did a few of my favorite motifs using the combo and then I was hooked!
What I love most is mixing my own Gray. In the video you can see the color puddle dried on my pallet. It looks like blue and an orangish color. You see me wet them, mix them together, and the gray that results. That is just half the story. As the paint dries, the colors “fall apart” again. The full color reads gray, but sometimes there is evidence of the 2 colors (actually 3) that were combined. Look closely to see this characteristic that only watercolor offers.
This is an original watercolor painting created using professional materials. It will never be reproduced as a print, you will be buying a one-of-a-kind painting.
