Wildflowers - Neglected Series, 6.5 x 5.75, Original Watercolor
I love wild places. The edge of a pond with lily pads, reeds, abundant vegetation and insects.
This painting is has many layers. Light areas were protected before another darker layer was applied. This was done multiple times to create depth and interest.
Neglected Series – This series celebrates nature uninterrupted. Overgrown, decaying and abandoned, mother nature will take back its own. Neglected has a negative connotation, but it is often from these ashes that beauty can emerge. I like to highlight unexpected loveliness.
This is an original watercolor painting. Professional Watercolor pigments were used on Arches 300 lb paper. The paper is torn by hand to create a rough edge all the way around. Every effort is made to create straight edges. Please forgive tiny imperfections, they add to the authenticity of one-of-a-kind art. You can choose to frame it with the edge visible or mat it for a clean edge.
